.....know a reputable garage where I can get my cambelt, waterpump etc replaced without fear of getting a duff job done or my pocket pinched?

I have recently been made redundant but I need my car to be able to see my little boy and as it has no history and 126500 miles showing, I want to get the belt changed to be safe.

I've read stories of people having work done only to find the mechanics have done a naff job and missed a tooth etc on the belt.

I'm just fishing really for somewhere you guys are happy to take your cars an know you will get a good job done.

How far are you willing to drive up?
There's a place in Leeds that did mine(cam belt) for £150 which is £3-400 cheaper than a stealer. He'll also put on parts that you source yourself.
That was for the 2.1TD. I can ask him tomorrow about the HDI if you like?
