406 hdi non starter?

hey folks , newbie here looking for some advice ?
i recently bought a 2000/V reg 406 hdi (90bhp). however it seems to have packed in on me . it doesn`t seem to start anymore. it goes through all the motions of working just doesn`t.
i put the key in , all the dash lights come on and i can hear noise like a fuel pump running. turn the key and it turns over but doesn`t start. there`s a light on the dash which is a yellow box with a key in. which i assume is the immobiliser. the display at the radio says "ignition fault". ive pugged a diagnostic machine onto the car and its coming up with no faults.
could anyone shed some light on this for me ?
