hello all

well im new to this site i have owned a 406 hdi for a couple of month now but i dont know much about them so hopefully you guys can help me

this after noon i took it out for a drive came to a junction put the clutch in to select 3rd gear on bringing the clutch up i heard a greatin noise as if i hadent selected gears properly so tryed again same noise any ideas??

iv been trying to find these problems/solutions but i cant even find the engine number of my car on any site out there to know if its the 90 or 110 hp motor so if its the DMF engine or not can any one help with this issue too please the engine number starts with DYFU4 and the vin starts wiv VF38

Hi there Vinnie and welcome :) quick check , open the bonnet and
while standing at the front of the car look to the right of the radiator
if there a large pipe going into another small radiator which is the
intercooler then its a 110 as the 90 doesn't have one of these .

Greetings :cheesy: I'm not sure about your engine number there, if you're still not sure post or pm me the chassis number. They all start with VF38...

Does it drive in 3rd or just make the grating noise?

well i guess its a 90 hp one as it doent have the big pipe cheers for that

must say its goes really well for only 90 hp :)

the vin isVF38BRHYFxxxxxxxx

it wont drive in any gear i can even start it in gear with none of the hopin one would normaly get
