KNACKERED BALLJOINT

Had a new o/s/f balljoint fitted about a month ago. Could feel the car wandering a bit on the drivers so took the car in the garage
today. The new balljoint is knackered already after 2000miles. Good news though the garage are fitting another one free of charge.
The balljoint was from GSF Vetech brand needless to say i'll go for the more expensive one. Quality control can't be good these days!

Thanks
Marco

That's disgraceful after 2000 miles!
I'll be steering clear of Vetech from now on!

The guy that owns the garage said he wouldn't usually replace anything when the customer supplies the part!. I don't really see why because GSF supply their parts and thats where i buy my parts from. I am a bit dubious about whether they fitted said balljoint properly but i'll give them the benefit of the doubt if i'd had the right tool i'd do it myself. Strange thing is i had a new balljoint fitted to the n/s/f back in may and that was the vetech brand not had any bother with that yet. Maybe is was just a bad balljoint but on something which is safety critical for your car you would think it would last longer than 2000 miles.

Be interesting to see what GSF say when i phone them on friday! I'll keep you posted. I want a refund though.....

Thanks
Marco

GSF are usually really good when you take stuff back, at least the one in Newcastle is good. Think you've just been unlucky and got a dodgy ball joint. The same happens with drop links all the time. Some last years, others just a few months.
