ahy i put in the old austin it does have an appeal. In the modern day though id pick the c4 as its the only one in the bunch that make me feel special when driving it, i test drove a 110 hdi and it was great, i like the way there is plenty of techy gadgets in it.

I wouldn't they were family hatches, 406 estates are family hatches. In that list A3 would be my choice. Dont like Civics or french or 1 series.
I'd rather have 3 series, A4, Volvo S40 etc tho.

No hatches for me - saloons all the way. If I had to pick, A3, Golf or a 308 :supafrisk: . I've been in a 2007 3 series and it was like sitting in a hospital. Bland a sterile - 0 character.

the 3 seires is bland i know, but i found it the same case with the golf it was drab inside, both the mk5 and new mk6 i seen nothing to go wow, whereas in the c4 its oooh that steering wheel doesnt move, wow there is a big speedometer up there, and awww nice when you sit in its seats.
But nothing compares to the mighty princess.

Somebody clucked up - the Austin Princess wasn't a hatch. It was a saloon shaped like a hatch (as opposed to the more modern hatches that are designed to look like saloons). It didn't become a hatch until it evolved into the Austin Ambassador.

I don't care if it doesn't even have a boot, I'd still have one over the other choices :P

Not interested in any of them.

Occasionally I think about Germans, or an X-type but that's pure fantasy. (Variously: too expensive to buy, to maintain, and/or to run.)

If I had to replace my 406 tomorrow I'd either have another one (HDi 110 saloon) or maybe a 407 HDi 1.6.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

You talking to yourself again? :P

Did they stop them leaking yet? They'd be perfect here, the cheap bastards* only put traffic lights on this side of the junction, so if you're at the front you have to put your head on the dashboard to see 'em

*the cost of the other ones probably ended up in The Evil Salamander's Swiss bank account too
