Hmmmmm lol I get it next Tues 10am, so I will be at the usual meet at Team Valley in it.

I cant break it or I have to pay £200 excess. Still gonna drive it like I do the 406, like I stole it. :cheesy:

My 406 occasionally has to double up as a builder's van, which is why I'd never go for a 407 estate - tiny boot. What were Pug thinking? Smaller than a damn glof!

There's not many new cars out there with a decent size boot nowadays :(

The 407SW's arse does look good tho :)

Indeed, the whole things pretty much sex on wheels - apart from that damn boot!

I drove my work's 407SW last week and I remember the first time I drove it, I was really dissappointed. I don't know whether it's loosened up since, but it felt a good drive this time. Only the 1.6 HDi, but it had enough pull for day to day use. Also, it felt confident on corners and really tight and well built. And the glass roof was the best toy I've seen for a while. But I didn't think it left that much light in.
Absolutely ridiculous boot, especially for an estate. I had a Mondeo courtesy car last year, a standard hatchback, was as big, maybe bigger.

Apparently they leak too. One would be useful here, they're a bit stingy on traffic lights and generally only put them on your side so if you're at the front you have to crane your neck to see the buggers. Maybe I shouldn't be the only person to stop for the damn things...

I was looking through this month's What Car? earlier (thanks dad) and, compared to other cars of its' size, even other Pugs, the boot is miniscule. For me, not only have Pug dropped the ball, they also need a microsurgeon to sew their arms back on.

Not just a 407 HDi problem, the plastic dipstick can break in petrol 206's.

Imagine liberating your dipstick for a little look at the oil level (which never moves) and finding the endy-bit had fallen off and you just have the metal strip

Don't need to imagine mate. I think I went a bit overkill by refusing to start it and towing it to my local garage for him to drop the sump. He said he searched the dirty oil for ages before realising that the offending bit was still stuck in the tube :? Still she had an early service that time :D

Great thing about my '6 is that for the first few seconds of the ignition being on, I have a gauge on the dashboard telling me how much oil I've got in... :)
