Newbie Double Coupe owner.

Post by Finchy »

Hi All! I'm Finchy! Some of you will know me from the 406coupeclub. I'm not exactly new, only new on here.

Decided to join here too as i have done some work for a few 406 estate owners.

I live in Tewkesbury. I have owned a HDi coupe for over 2 years and it is heavily modified engine wise. My Mrs, Rrainey has recently bought a V6. As a bit of a hobby i regularly help HDi owners out solving problems and i know a bit about the HDi engine and have the use of a fully equiped workshop.

Anyway, enjoy the piccies :D

Come on in Al. Don't usually bother with the welcome messages, but seeing as you're the only guy on the coupe club that's ever replied to my posts on there I'll make an exception.

Good news on The Beemer by the way. Reckon you've got a nice hassle free transaction doing it the way you did - no risk of some num-num phoning 6 months later wanting a refund because a bulb blew!

Welcome Finchy! I do not understand the rivalry between the two forums TBH... both great places to have a chat and gather some good infos.

Welcome :)

Lovely looking cars, the 406 Coupe is a great looking car, I don't think anything else like it has aged quite as well.

Hi mate!

I didn't know there was a bit of an 'atmosphere' surrounding the two clubs :? the two models are essentially the same so sharing information would seem a good thing.

Welcome anyway and thanks for offering to help so freely.

You'd think, but they decided to start charging for access to the technical parts of the forum, including the howtos (of which I had donated a fair few). After I said "WTF?" (and got heavily flamed for it) they eventually went back on their decision, but not before deleting all my howtos...

Don't think I've even bothered logging on there since - despite the over-zealous moderation, the signal:noise ratio over there is even lower than our impressively low signal:bullshit ratio
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
