ANother newie

Post by bagpuss22 »

Hi all,

I'm bagpuss22 and I am new to this forum.

Recently aquired a 2000 (X) 406 2.2 SRi and I am over the moon with it.
96K with a full Peugeot history and all the receipts, what a great car.

Question:

Rear Silencer, where is the best place to get these? £240 from Peugeot is
quite a bit if I have too!!!

Thanks.

don't go to kwik-sh*t (over 5 attempts to get an exhaust fitted right) and don't go for the dirt cheap ones you can find online, else you'll end up with a badly-fitting pile of crap that'll melt your bumper, like mine did...

Thanks will have a look around....

A couple of the retailers I have been to have said "Peugeot ONLY" on this model
and as for "kwik*(*(&(" we all know how much they care about the work they do!

Cheers

Welcome bagpuss!

A 2.2 sri eh? let me guess - is it blue per chance?

They only came in that flavour for some reason (cobalt blue? I think?)

Eggsauce wise try and get a Bosal back box. If you state whre abouts you are hen maybe some of us can suggest a few places to try

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies!

I am down in Hastings, and yep the car is a lovely metallic blue.
If I could fit a stainless exhaust for a similar price I would go for it but
everywhere I go seems to throw up the same problem, my car is not listed!

Anyway....

Bit of a story on buying this car as I managed to get if from "ebay" !
The car was based in Durham and so after lengthy conversation with the
owner and loads of photo's I took the train to Durham (£135!!!). I have to
admit it's one of the better cars I have owned.....

regards
