Hello, I'm a new member from Lancashire, owner of a 1998 406 V6 GLX. A long-time Peugeot nut, I also own a 206 1.4, and look after my son's 306 Roland Garros. (soon for sale!) . I've previously owned or worked on 304, 205 diesel and 1.9 Gti, 405 Sri, 309 petrol and diesel, 306 petrol and diesel, 406 V6 coupe D9.
As you'd expect, I've joined the forum in the hope of sorting out some minor but annoying problems with my V6, but if I can offer advice or knowledge to other members I will.

So you've had all those Peugeots and still come back for more?
Hope to see you around on here - maybe helping out with some practical advice too!

Thanks for the welcome! - forgot to mention I previously owned a 1997 2.0 GLX which, to my shame, snapped its cambelt, destroying the engine in the process, just a week before I had planned to change it. I even had the parts ready! - very expensive mistake - so my advice to all you owners who know in your hearts that 'I really should do it soon', is don't put it off any longer, and don't rely on the mileage rule, think about the age as well, and if you're not sure, change it, and while you're there, change EVERYTHING. - then you can sit back and enjoy the ride for a few years.
Also forgot to mention that I recently helped a friend do an engine swop on a 406 2.1 turbodiesel which had snapped its belt. An 'interesting' car to work on, and again expensive for the owner.
Finally, for all you who bemoan the 'dodgy electrics' on Peugeots, my long-term project car is a 1979 Reliant Scimitar auto; now that's what I call dodgy electrics! - you get one thing working and two new things give up in protest! - the secret seems to be EARTHS earths and more earths. But at least, like Peugeots, Scimitars don't rust, and that's why, despite their faults, I still like Peugeots!
