hi,new 406 owner

Post by MikeOC »

hi all, just joined the forum...and i'm a new owner to the 406 as well :) my names' Mike and i''m from Merseyside.
just picked up my car today, always liked the cars to look at,so decided to buy one as a replacement for my Mondeo 2.0 Ghia which i've had for a while and have decided to sell..
the 406 i have bought is i think something of a rarity as i've not seen many of this model for sale[and i looked at loads of cars during my search]-it's a facelifted car,2001 year,SRi 2.2 petrol saloon, with half-leather seats, and in a lovely metallic blue[maybe someone can tell me what the colour is called].it has just 53k from new with full Peugeot service history and 1 owner,in immaculate condition throughout, and came with 12 months mot and 6 months tax on it too.

to be on the safe side,i'm putting it in for a service, and timing belt change next week,as theres no record in the history of the belt being changed-i believe the interval on these is 80k but with the age of the car i think its good practice to change it now to be safe!!

i'll post some pics once i've figured that out!!

Welcome to the club Mike :D

2.2 SRi is a nice mowtah 8) , enjoy it! :P

Yeah the timing belt is 80K or 8 years, so it's about due, gotta get mine done early in the new year, been quoted about £250 for just the belt fitted and an extra £150 for a service :( .

Welcome aboard Mike :cheesy:

Smart move on the timing belt, there's nothing like cam belt paranoia to ruin the whole driving experience :?
