Someone must have bought it then :supafrisk:

I can't remember much of the history.
First owner sold it to We Buy Any Car, who are part of Carcraft from whom the second owner bought it. But the second owner preferred his Honda, so that's how it got where it is now. I think the second owner didn't have it long.

The interior is immaculate, other than the usual scratches on the door handle.

The only evidence of servicing is the stamps in the book every 20k, which isn't great.

The V6 diesel is a Ford (and therefore not for me) unit that's also used in Jags and Range Rovers. Had one here in a 407 coupe a couple of months ago to go on PP2000. Turbo control problem.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

All that is small talk.

The important question is: does it have proper cup holders? And not the excuse for a cup holder that doesn't hold any cups in the 406......

The 2.7 L (2720 cc) V6 is built by Ford and Jaguar Cars at their Dagenham facility, and was designed by Ford engineers at their Dunton and Whitley product development centres. It is called AJD-V6 by Jaguar and DT17 by PSA Peugeot Citroën.

Doubly undesirable, the v6 is a Ford and you can't get a manual.

By all accounts the 2.7 wasn't any great shakes and the 3.0 only a bit better.

I suspect a breathed upon twin-turbo 2.2 would leave them both for dust.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

What cup holders?

If you buy a French car with Ford engine, then frankly you deserve all you have coming.

Funnily enough one of my mates maintains the cnc machines that do the cylinder heads there, when developing the new diesels they had to redevelop the cylinder heads to an inferior design, because psa didn't have the capability to make machine them the same. (They do them old skool on a production line).

I asked what they've done to prepare the car:
Hepworth Select wrote: We have put 2x Tyres, Tracking, Rear window regulator, new speaker, MOT'd Serviced & Brake fluid change. The new tyres should sort pressure problem as one had a nail in it?
Which basically shows how inadequate my inspection was when I visited. Probably good that I bought from a dealer rather than private.

Looks really nice mate. Can't say I'm overly shocked at you buying it though as you've been hankering after one for ages. Hope the reality lives up to your expectations. Never driven a 2.2 170, but drove them when they first came out with the 2.0 136 & the power on that was good enough for me.

Another good sign. Not many good ones like that about.
