Peugeot 406 Hdi 110 SE.

Post by Jennyy »

Hello every1.
Just bought the 406 2.0 HDI SE 110 Estate in beautiful Diablo Red :D
Only 80.000 miles, so drives like new 2003 :D
My son says that it may need a new clutch in the near future as pedal is a bit high :(
How much will it cost when i have to fix it ...???
Son also saays if i remap it it will be better on fuel is he right...???
And as it is a diesel turbo could give me more than 50-75% more power will it...???
Missing rear leather head rests tho, can't find any yet.

But over all very happy with my car :P

pedal high may be slave cyclinder needs replacing
as for remapping it i should give you more power but i can see 50% let alone 75%
i would think 30% at the most, im almost sure the hdi 110 remap's to 136bhp

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

Hi there, welcome along!

At 80,000 miles and 7 years old, you'll want the cambelt changed soon if it hasn't already been done

Look forward to seeing some photos; I always liked the SE interior (those half-leather seats!)

I'm an SE wannabe! Interior is 75% in. Done the black dash, 3 doorcards & the back seat. Only 1 doorcard & front seats (inc wiring) to go!

Then I might see if I can find that funky chrome strip for the front bumper...

Hi jenny,
I have recently got one too and thought the clutch was dodgy due to the biting point being so high. They all do this and since my clutch turned out to be only 10,000miles old it seems to be true. I would not stress it too much until it really struggles. IIRC the ways to test a clutch are try and move off in 4th - it should stall regardless of RPM. There is another using 5th and dipping, etc but I cannot remember it fully.
Kind regards,
Ed
