Newbie having problems

Post by Nandad »

I have an 2.0ltr turbo estate and everytime I try to select reverse the engine dies. Starts up and runs in reverse. Its a real pain.

Problem this am. Ran fine for an hour, stopped to get a paper then the car would not start, went for a coffee and a smoke, tried again started and run fine then died at traffic lights and would not restart. I tried to speak to it nicely still no joy. Waited 15mins, ticked off some bus drivers then the thing started.

Any help/suggestions gratefully received

Hi
Had diagnostics done but nout found.

Checked with clutch company - they crushed the sensor wires - occasional bridge giving earth fault - replaced section of the loom and new sensor - all ok now.

Many thanks

The clutch is a horrible job on the 406 so I'm not really surprised they caught the wires.

Would help the forum if you add the engine type, i.e. Petrol/HDi etc..

Glad you got it sorted fairly easily.
