Help needed for Peugeot Planet

Post by YAK »

Hello,

I am looking at getting Peugeot Planet for my laptop, but I need some help and advice on where to buy it and making sure I get the correct connectors... I have a 52 plate 406 HDi (90) Rapier and it needs a couple of faults investigating...

Any help will be gratefully received...

Many thanks

Hi Jake.

I am a relatively new user for pp2000, but the kits are all the same.

Check out these on eBay - you will probably pay around £80 - £100 for one. Only really work on a laptop running XP.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexia-3-PP200 ... 41725ce9e1 - this one looks good.!!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DIAGNOSTIC-IN ... 460e08c78e

Takes a bit of working out but plenty of help on this forum - I am still learning too.

Cheers GingerMagic, I will check those links out... Unfortunately, my laptop is Vista Home, will this be a real problem?

Sorry, technology isn't my thing.

Its just that some PP2000 advertised state you need XP. I'm sure there is a way around it but best talk to someone in I.T.

Well it has been a bit of mission, but sort of got there.

I bought the kit from carwarehouseukltd on ebay. They helped a lot (and are still helping) with the instillation of the software.

There are several steps to follow:

Install free VMware player - this creates a virtual computer within vista,

Install xp onto the VMware player - this then acts as a XP computer.

Do not install any anti virus software on xp as this will hinder the installation of PP2000

Follow the instruction videos provided by carwarehouseukltd.

This didn't work with me but carwarehouseukltd suggested I install Teamviewer which allowed them to remotely access my laptop and do the installation for me!!

I can't fault them on after sales, probably spent 5-6hrs helping install it!!

At the moment I am just learning how to get started with PP2000, so fingers crossed!!

This could be the same mistake that nearly everyone does.

Did you select the 406'R' ??

R is just the phase 2 models, not some sporty number as I first thought..

Another possibility is the diagnostic port fuse being blown, (was on my previous car).

Do you know anyone else with a pug you could try it on?

2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)

2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

OK I didn't try it with '406R', I will give that a go... Whilst I'm at it I will check the fuse.

When I get back to work I will try it out with a colleagues 307 and see what happens...

Watch this space...

Well I have been scratching around in the car, under the bonnet and on the Internet and haven't managed to conclusively locate the fuse for the Diagnostics Socket.

The Owners Handbook says its in the engine compartment, but the diagram is nothing like the actual box and all the stuff I have found on the web doesn't seem to fit either...!! This is getting close to me calling the garage and forking out way too much of my hard earned!!

I am still getting the ECU has not replied message with PP2000

I can't think what could be going wrong with the diagnostic. I simply plug mine in, turn on laptop, double-click pp2000 and select 406R, type in 4 digit build code - mine is 9804 - and Bob's your Uncle....

I have a 2.2Hdi, this has different fuse box layouts to the 2.0Hdis.

I think if you have a 2.0 Hdi, you have a mini fuse cluster tucked behind the main one by the steering wheel, the 2.2Hdi mini fuse cluster is in the engine bay.

Keep persivering, hopefully it will fall into place for you.

On mine, its F4 in the engine fusebox. Worth checking F5 too.

Any success with your ECU no reply problem? I have been trying for a month now on my 98 model and just keep getting ECU no reply fault message...
