Hi there,
Can anyone help out with these Fault codes for my 406 HDi (90) 52 plate please.
It comes up with:
P1802 Drivers Level 2 Airbag Igniter
P1808 O/S/F/ Side Air Bag Igniter
Any Ideas how to fix this?
All help greatly received!!
Cheers
Jake

Re: Airbag Fault Codes
It's very likely the 2-pin plugs under the seats.
On start up self test, the airbag ecu checks continuity through the 'igniters', (detonators
), using an understandably small amount of power. The slightest increase in circuit resistance will cause it to fail. The contact pins oxidise over time resulting in problems.
Try unplugging / re-plugging them first, frequently this will cure it for a month or two.

Cheers Doggy, I have just given that a go.
The connections look clean and the Airbag waning light still comes on... Is there anything else I can check??

Re: Airbag Fault Codes
Hi, a common one is the orange pre-tensioner wire under passenger seat. If you look down between passenger seat and centre console, by seatbelt, there is a kind of corrugatted black and white wire just about visable. If you follow this wire it is connected at the back of the block of connectors under passenger seat.
As Doggy says, try unplugging and replugging each one several times, inluding the one at the back, just to be sure. Please wait 5mins after ignition off though, we don't want any explosions whilst you have your face by the airbag..
Sometimes just moving seat back and forth, up and down before checking connectors works too.
