outside temp guage 8 degees too low!

Post by christopherhamp »

Hi
I have two 406's and both have outside temperature guages which read exactly 8 decrees low! How weird is that? Anyone have any ideas?

They are prone to failing. Mine read +40c once in the middle of winter. Get a new one and replace the sensor. It'll be under the passenger door mirror.

I don't think the OP was complaining about the fault, just that 2 of them had failed in exactly the same way :?

Thats what I tought at first bit realised that there was something wrong when they both read Zero when it was a lovely day.
Checked it with my other car and they were both 8 degrees C low.
Thanks for the advice about the sensor!

I once had a -5, 'Risk of Ice' warning come up on the dash - although I was stuck in traffic on the M6, midday, in July.....

Swapped the sensor and jobs a good'un.
