Sorry

Post by hugh »

Hi all,

Looking back I'm concerned I might have asked things I could have found out by Reading The Friendly Haynes (which arrived a couple of days ago). If people felt that, I apologise. It wasn't my intention to be lazy or take advantage of peoples' good natures, but I can see it might have looked like that. I know you're all busy people and really appreciate your help.

Regards

Hugh

OK cheers lozz. I do reckon people who have been there and done it (possibly even over several years to a decade in some cases I'm guessing, and on multiple examples) are maybe better examples to learn from than a Haynes guy who writes loads of different titles and perhaps might rush them a little bit. I noticed that A. K. Legg who co-wrote the 406 Haynes has done other titles in the series. Sure I've seen his (or possibly her) name before.

I find the Haynes book of lies is okay to sort of get a feel for what you are doing, and what parts look like etc, but for advice then this forum is the dogs danglies....

Say what?

It's good forum etiquette to use the search facility for answers to common problems, but we're not too precious about it - after all no one is forced to answer you.
I think we would all prefer people sometimes asked repetitive questions than struggled on their own.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
