Hello
Thought I'd better join as I just purchased a 406 HDi estate in Rapier trim. 2001 with 92K, part service history, runs well and I'm enjoying it

Re: Hello
Hi & welcome aboard.
Looking very tidy there.
(that bit of trim is easily replaced, just clips in).

2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Re: Hello
Thanks, its not bad at all, wants a front fog light, and that bit of missing trim and some of the in bumper chrome bits are missing. it has a few scuffs and stuff, but for £625 its pretty good

Re: Hello
Hi, welcome
My first 406 was a red one too - the 406 doesn't seem to turn pink with age like other red cars do. I bought it 7 years ago for £800 as it had a new MOT, tyres, clutch and exhaust - the downside was the stench of dog which wouldn't shift, even after 2 years. If I had known then what I have learned from the forum now I would have swapped bits over and sorted it out, but I didn't so I sold it...
I am now on my 3rd 406 viewtopic.php?f=5&t=22036 which still has some issues but I don't keep on top of them as I only use it every couple of weeks..

Re: Hello
We also have a Clio 182 Sport, and the difference in performance and fuel usage is huge - the clio even if driven easy only does 29mpg, i think the 406 is going to manage 45 - 50mpg on short stuff around home, not bad really...............
