406 fuel consumption

Post by AhmedHendawy »

Hi,

I wonder if anyone knows what is the acceptable fuel consumption for 406 99 2.0L 16V sedan in case of urban driving only without air conditioner. Also my RPM gives a reading of 10 before the engine start and reading of 20 when Idle the engine rev is in normal idle speed and I want to your help if anyone faces this behaviour.

Thanks,

I drive through lots of traffic jam so usually I can get about 16 litre / 100 km (or around 6km/litre). On the highway if I drive economically, it could get up to 5 litre / 100 km (or 20km/litre). But in any case, I always drive with air conditioning.

Regarding your RPM indicates 10 before the engine start may suggest the needle is incorrectly positioned, you may want to have it repaired so it accurately shows your true RPM. On my car before the engine start, the needle is just below 0.

If you want to know the truly accurate RPM, you need to hook up PP2000. But I think just rotating the needle from 10 to 0 would be enough.

Thank you so much for your reply.
Regarding the needle it moves to 0 when I remove the keys but I will try to adjust it manually and hope it won't get under the 0 position 😀
Will update you with the results.
