Hello mate, Welcome 8)

D8 is the phase 1 406

D9 is the phase 2 facelifted model, made from around 2000, you know, the one with the prettier headlights (like mine) :cheesy:

Hello degsy.

There is some debate on here between the D8's and the D9'ers. You see the D8 has a reputation for reliability (being more simple) but the D9 has got the looks but no brains.

So, occasionally we wind each other up about who's is best etc etc. makes for a lot of fun :P

My D9 has been the pinicle of automotive reliability without a single fault.

Of course, I have been known to tell fibs as well.

Welly.

Meh. D9s have a better looking front end, but the D8's interior is definitely smarter!

I think I want to take a "look" at a D9 LCD display though!
(ok, I want to rip it out of its mount, reverse engineer it, convert protocols (VAN bus to CAN bus?) if necessary and stick it in my D8...)
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
