not starting? red/green lights on immobiliser together?

hi all i have a 96 pug406 lx 1.9td went to it this morning for work and switched the ignition on opened the immobiliser keypad and there is both red and green lights lit together tried putting in my code still lit it won't start it was working ok last night any ideas would be helpful no idea why showing red/green lights together thanks in advance rich

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes

might be worth checking immoby loom for broken wires we've had to repair my mates about 3 times now- the wires break cos of the flap going up and down so often
