hi i am new to peugeot and the owners club

i pick my 406 lx hdi estate up this saturday,i live in lincolnshire and are married with 2 children,i have liked the look
of the estate car for a while,i at present own a 4x4 which is costing me to much in diesel,so i have bit the bullet and brought
a peugeot estate.

thanks for the greetings verry nice
the 4x4 was a mitsubishi 2.5 td pajero exceed lovley motor but the 27 to the gallon was killing my wallet, so towing my caravan was like having to have a loan from the bank to go any where.

i have borrowed my freinds p reg 406 petrol estate sometimes,until she had oil leak and seized the engine up not good

my inlaws knew some one with a 406 hdi estate went to have a look , and decided to buy one.

well didnt get to pick my 406 hdi estate up up on saturday ,insurance mistake sent my documents to my home address instead
of were i brought it from, so nipped over to kings lynn to deliver them my self, so all being well i should be able to pick it up
wednesday night,and be all ok and legal for me to drive back home,this will also give it a run to see how she goes,then get use to it for a couple of days before it goes to the garage to have a new cam belt,oil and filter change,glow plug change,anti freeze
replaced,tow bar fitted with twin electricks,and last but not least, new tyre fitted to the spare wheel,the garage belongs to my brotherin law,so it wont hurt the wallet to much.

picked my 406 hdi estate up ,went realy well ,only one thing i did see but dont know if its the norm for these cars,
do the fittings in the engine that hold the black cover on saying hdi do these always snap of because 2 of mine have and the cover keeps rattleing,what sort of prices are these to buy and have i got to go to the peugeot dealers for them.

Yes the engine covers always snap off. They're not particularly expensive from the dealers, but they are on eBay relatively often aswell.

she is quite to drive i thought it would be noisey for a desiel.

Instead of using the original Peugeot mountings, go to a factors and buy 4 Renault exhaust bobbins (rubber mountings) and nuts and washers.Screw these into the holes on your car and hold the plastic engine cover down with the nuts and washers.....these will last a very long time, in fact i've never had to replace any that I converted.
