Hi there nik and welcome to the club
,
most of our members just peel the vinyl off and clean up the paintwork underneath with some tar remover or something similar and give it a polish it comes up a treat.
If you want to replace the vinyl because you like the OE look have a trawl through the search box for "door vinyl" maybe
, somebody on here did replace theirs quite recently and i think he found the vinyl on ebay or somewhere similar, if i can find the thread i will post up a link for you, maybe the member will add the details himself but i cant for the life of me remember who it was right now.

The vinyls are available from the dealers and they were strangely cheap... something like 14 euro for both sides

Re: 1997 406 black sticker door trims
Without wanting to stand on anyones toes, especially mint condition 406s (and mine a bit rough round the edges)
Personally, I think the devinyl works better on the saloon than the estate due to the 'C' pillar (behind the rear doors and the rear 'conservatory' windows) remaining black
Unless these can be devinyled / bodycoloured, but they look to be structural trim and not covered?
