Laguna splitter question... paint?

I've read all over the forum about laguna splitters, and the photos all look great. I was wondering what material the actual splitter is made out of? I have a whiter than white 406 98 GLX and am wondering if the splitter is "paintable"

I'm thinking that on an all white car, with the standard colour splitter - it might look a bit crap.

The splitter is rubber and quite flexible

"IF" you happen to hit it, say on a speed bump then the likelihood is you'll crack and chip the paint, and it will look even worse

Spray it in some GT85 so make it look newer and be done with it is my advice

Also, if it was painted white, it would make the bottom at the front look too deep in comparison to the rest of the car unless you've got some seriously deep side skirts and rear bumper.

I catch my Laguna splitter on a pretty much daily basis, so it's scraped to hell and I would never dream of painting mine as it just wouldn't be worth the aggro. As Plod says, they are made of rubber so are flexible and the paint would crack/chip/scrape.

Well as it turned out, i drove over a speed bump earlier and heard a brief scraping sound (without a splitter) So with my driving style, i doubt a splitter would be a good idea. We'll see though.

I like the splitter left black, in fact somewhere in the gallery subforum is a white car with an unpainted black splitter. It kind of gives the bumper an outline, or definition or whatever the term is. Somebody consult an art student!

buy vinyl undercoat its designed fur rubber and things that bend u can buy it from halfords but as the others have said it scrapes mine is lowered 40mm at the front and i have a laguna splitter and t scrapes everywer

I found the photos of the white 406 with the black splitter on it earlier. I have to say it does actually look quite good, especially with the other black horizontal trim etc on the car. How does one go about fitting one of these to the car? I won't bother with the random idea of painting it.

damn, can't believe i wasted my money then earlier buying that blu-tac

I just used a load of self tapping screws and put one about every 4-6" depending on how much shaping/bending was required to get it to sit flush.
