Front fogs, D9 (cleaning)
My front fogs have a thin layer of grime on the inside of the glass, is there anyway i can dismantle them to clean the glass or is it a replacement job...?

I think Puggy replaced his a while back for just this reason. I don't think you can take them apart, time was you could warm them in the oven to soften the glue but I think these are plastic. Mine are a tad misty inside, I've been thinking of having them off, putting warm wwater, detergent and pearl barley (or split peas or whatever, so long as it's not going to damage the lens) in them and giving them a good shake. Works great for bottles with dried-on crud in the bottom anyway

I like your idea, sounds more appealing than forking out for new lamps.

The cleaning method is as follows (done it to D8 ones, probably the same for hte new ones):
1. Take foglights off.
2. Take the bulbs out.
3. take some kind of glass clening stuff and water in an 1:1 mixture and fill them up. Shake up good and leave them for 15 minutes.
4. Wash with water until there are no traces of the detergent or bubbles.
5. Rinse with distilled water twice, so no spots are left on the reflector after drying of regular water
6. Leave them to dry for a day (if sunny)or more.
7. The outside can be polished with car polish paste, just like you polish your car, but they should be off otherwise the the pant around them can be ruined.

how do you get the fogs out, i just thought turning them on would warm them up enough to get rid of the mist

haha, I was hoping that turning them on would dry them out a bit too. (So if you're on the M4 in Berkshire and are annoyed by a 406 with fogs on, then that's me
. Still, not as annoying as those Volvo drivers with their headlights on in broad daylight )
anyway, my fogs are still a bit, er, misty
so just how do they come off?

If I recall you need to pop the front arch liners out and get a small child to stick their arms up behind the front bumper.
