Hi peeps, new on here,
I have a problem with my front wipers on my car, the first and second position on the switch for the wipers have stopped working, but the 3rd position is still working any ideas. Have checked the fuses and all seem ok.

Hi there, welcome
There's a few things it could be, you could start by checking for voltage at the wiper motor connector. Do the wipers park when you turn them off, or do they stay somewhere on the screen? It might help to know the year of manufacture for your car.

R reg and yes they do stick on the screen. They started working for a few minutes today and then stopped, same problem.

Ah, it's a D8 so there's none of that nasty multiplex stuff to worry about. The motor uses the low speed to park, so if that's screwed up it won't. There's not so much worry about testing stuff too, check for the voltage at the motor, I think that's probably going to be the motor if it doesn't park, it used a different circuit from low speed. At least, the last time I played with wiper motors they did anyway.

Most likely the motor, (they use a 3rd brush for high speed, so I'm guessing one of the 'normal' ones has just been digested). This happened to my bro's 98 D8, we fitted a 2nd hand one from a scrappy a year or so back, £15 & still good.
His had 'eaten' a brush too and they're not built so you can change them. I gave up trying fairly quickly.
