BONNET PAINT JOB

Post by parcelman »

after having rusty stonechips on the lip of my bonnet i gave it ago at painting myself, total nightmare, made a right pigs ear of it.I bit the bullet and took it to a local spray shop on my local ind est and he told me £140.00 to respray the whole bonnet,i thought sod it go ahead. The car was down there for a whole day and night and i got it back lunchtime the next day,it looked great.Having wiped the interior clean where the guy had driven the car out and had dust all over my interior of his hands and clothes i drove it home.Today, one week later i noticed a few bubbles starting to appear on the front end of the bonnet where the rust used to be,now im not talking major rust,it was rust of stonechips and were quite small but lots of them.Itook it back and the guy said it would have come back eventually because you cant kill rust,so after a few hasrsh words he said he would do it again but im back at work now and need my car,so he offered that if i get a bonnet he would spray it for me for free,he also claims that all of these rust treatments dont work,to kill rust you need to cut it out,any feedback would be much appreciated guys.
