Side stripes

My 406 came with two thin, side stripe "stickers", I hope someone knows what I'm talking about. I want to take them off, but is there anyway to do this safely without taking paint with it? I haven't tried anything yet, as I pick the car up tomorrow, so I'm up to any ideas.

If you apply a little heat using either a heat gun or hairdryer they should peel off without any problems then just wipe off the residue with bug and tar remover or any other petrol based cleaner
