Front Bumper Broken

Post by MaDc0w »

Hit a rock and ripped off my front bumper today.

I found one on ebay but it's without the foglight holes.
Can I just cut the holes out myself or does the bumper need other things to hold my foglights? (besides some clamps)

Well, it makes a change from hitting wild animals I suppose

I would have thought the bumpers would be fairly similar altough you might need a recessed housing for the lamp to fit in (unless it's just a hole in the bumper?) and a bit of bracketry behind it for support. Can't you salvage any brackets and bits off the smashed bumper?

from my modding experience, the front bumper indeed has a small bracket like welton mentioned it. but if you can't find the exact same braket you can always make one yourself. :cheesy:

i did it before, using L shaped metal thingy ... bolt them to the back of the bumper. it's firm and enough to support the fog light at bumpy roads. but i must say i was lucky enough to find the L shaped metal thingy because it fits perfectly both with the fog light case and the bumper bolt position.

i found them in an old toolbox :P

I was waiting for that one.... LOL

Not much from the left side to save. I ripped it fully off and ran over it....

I have a car for now so I can wait it out a week or 2.

Probly try AGAIN to find 406 parts at the junk yard here. 406s are just TOO reliable here I guess. Never any parts to grab.

I don't have the nerves to be making things fit that should fit in the first place.. hehe :)

Driving through Germany, I only ever saw ONE other Pug 406, which was disappointing and probably a contributing part to the lack of spares.

Anyway, fog lamp holes are already there, just blanked off with plates. Make sure you get a D8 bumper for your car as a D9 one is substantially different.
