D8 wing replacement failure

Post by Col »

I started off thinking I could do a DIY wing replacement, but I have thrown the towel in already

defeated by the damn headlights as I cant undo the lower bolt

Dont give up the headlights are a pain to take off but it is doable had to replace 1 this week youve got to have the correct tools and patience dont lose the spring if you are not fitting a new headlamp

I'll have another go this afternoon mate

funny thing is - on the drivers' side light, the lower plastic lug has been snapped so is hanging free, but the spring is inaccessible

and on the passenger side, the spring is easy to get to but the bolt isn't... DOH

Sorry forgot to mention  instead of trying to get to the spring through the access hole in the wheel arch liner. I screwed the neck off the washer bottle and unhooked it from inside the engine compartment
