i've always used a jumbo sponge to wash my car. always. but not washing up liquid.
i just use a wash and wax liquid in water to pre wash before a polish.

I think at some time these parts have been resprayed.
i wouldnt worry about it frank. since changing my front drivers side wing the colour difference between the wing and door is way different.
at some stage my car was repainted along the drivers side. (a twat scraped down it overnight why it was parked up) and buggered off leaving no details.

almost every car will get a panel or 2 repainted in its life . its normal .
personally i would just flake off the peeling bits with my thumb nail and leave it. 8)

the thing that gets me about this colour is its not china blue, its rhodes blue which means if i do see a door that looks the same colour i can only tell the difference when they are close.

You dont need a new door mate by the looks of it,
Get someone to flaten off the peelling laquer,

and have the car buffed up afterwards,

Chester over the years has been both in Wales and in England

If you went through the wallesey ( I think that's what it's called ) tunnel it brings you out near ellesmere port, carry on down the motorway 15/20 miles and your in chester, so i'd definately class it as north
