Autoglym California Water Blade - very good...

Discuss the 406's Bodywork stuff in here (what parts fit what, what can be interchanged with what etc etc).

yeah, but you also have a container of old mower oil, you need to get rid of it somehow!

Nah, I'll just tip it down the drain, just like the old engine oil.

What the heck are you supposed do with used engine oil in this country?

The National Tyres special offers on oil changes only applies up to 2 litre engines and it really does look like a piece of cake to change it on the V6 so I may as well... Ooh reminds me I haven't checked the air filters on this thing yet!

What I do is use a basin lined with a black bin bag when draining oil when I'm done just tie up the bin bag and fire it in the wheelie bin under all the rubbish lol

Don't you take it down the dump? At my local tip there's a huge container you pour your old oil into.

 I'd be terrified that a tin of tomatoes or something would cut the bag open! Wouldn't want to have to bring a wheelie bin dripping with used engine oil into my front room :/

Yeah, like most in my street I've got no access to my garden so the wonderful council decided to give us all wheeliebins to stick in our living rooms. 'tards. This was only about a year after they trialled them with us then took them away after a fortnight saying "yeah, there's not enough room on the pavement for wheeliebins and you can't get them into your gardens so we'll stick with binbags for this area".

Exactly the same as woking borough council bless them. We're one of a couple of properties that "don't have room" for a wheelie bin. Suits me because they're apparently chipping the bins and charging on the amount of non recyclable rubbish that's put out.
And we've just had our council tax bill in with the obligatory increase. Must be paying for all the speed traps the rozzers have been running over the last couple of months

There should be a big tank at all the local dumps for used engine oil, putting it in your wheely bin is very uncool (as is tipping it down the drain, which is also illegal.) I've no idea what to do with it here, recycling is almost non-existant: along with a few gallons of used engine oil I also have a load of blown low energy bulbs, I've no idea what to do with them either - they've got mercury in them, for god's ache!

I have a wheely bin tho!

Oooh that reminds me, I've got about 15l of old oil in various containers in the corner of the garage that needs to go to the dump. Must remember to take it next time the Zook's out (not taking it in the car, I've got beige carpets FFS!)

You sound like me there Dai, all my oil pans are full. Job for the weekend, I've got to change the oil in the tubby when I've cured the leak.

I'd just take it to National Tyres. Usually about £20 inc filter so very much worth it. Much easier than trying to fart around with the tubby's nasty filter positioning, dumping the oil, etc

Christ that's cheap
I've already got the filter (came with new plug washer!) so I'll do this one myself, but for next time, National Tyres it is!
What sort of oil do they use for £20?!
