How to find a paint code from reg?

Found a fleabayer breaking a car that looks to be the same colour as mine.
Unfortunately the guy has dismantled the car and doesn't have the paint code or VIN.
I could have checked on servicebox if I had the VIN!

I only have the registration to go on. I know someone on this site checked my paint colour using my reg a while back.
Anyone know where/how to do this?

This is interesting, I bought a secondhand panel using the paint code on the label on the a frame drivers side, KMDC. The panel arrived and was a perfect match, I needed also some aerosol touch up and went to Halfords to buy some, they couldn't match the code and said the door sticker was wrong! According to the lists I've seen and my cars original spec KMDC is a metalic called Samarkand Blue. The local Pugeot dealer looked up the car spec and said that colour was M03D! They ordered me one I'm just waiting to see what turns up! Anyone else had this problem?

Well it seems there are 2 paint codes! The aerosol supplied by the dealer to their paint code and the one on the door sticker! Anyway it was warm yesterday and I sprayed the repair, not a bad match, so at least something worked!
