Took me a day to do it all on my todd. Not a particularly difficult thing to do, just be careful compressing the standard springs as they are very, very long compared to the lowering springs.

Just the usual one - careful with those spring compressors!

Beg, borrow or steal, a hydraulic spring compressor
Job goes from potentially lethal to piece of p**s

Me too, the roads are crap here. You might want to look into "uneven terrain" suspension. I know the higher C of G might upset the roadholding but my days of cornering like a loon are long since past

Used to be able to get spacers for my Vitara that basically lift the bodywork, but kept the same suspension.
2" spacer between the top of the strut and the top mount in the engine bay, and a poly spacer to lengthen the spring and a thread extension to lengthen the shock on the back.
Wish the 406 was so easy to bodge!

when you done yours did you have to take the hub nut off and keep the disk intact with the strut? or did you undo the bolt on the rear of the strut seperating the strut from the bottom arm leaving the hub and brakes in place?

With mine, it was a case of undoing the drop link, undoing the bolt to seperate the strut from the hub assembly, and undoing the 3 bolts holding the strut to the strut top mounting in the engine bay

what then just push down on the hub until there is enough room to pull it out?

Once the bolt holding the strut to the hub assembly is undone, you should be able to force it away from the strut, then undo the strut top.
