Got this as my new replacement door. Gonna take a while to bash out the dents from TNTs abysmal courier service, aswell as changing the door cards and connecting all the electronics and

BUT

the stickers all over it, whats the best way to remove them? as you can see i started picking but on the big C theres still an outline left that I cant get.

how do i get them off?

  that's kinda funny getting a Taxi door (sorry fella).

A hair dryer seems favourite to melt the adhesive and then some meths or something to remove any residue.

i know, i found it hard to find one in silver, the first one was from a D8 not a D9 and TNT wrecked it by dropping it, but because my girlfriends mum signed for it without checking we couldnt claim a penny. this time i made the guy stay until id opened it.

the door is in okay condition, just the stickers are a bitch. so hairdryer and what sort of meth? never really done this before

Might need to give it a machine polish with a polishing compound to completely get all trace of the stickers away, depending on how long they've been on.

See how the meths gets on first though.

The Meths will be from a DIY store it's a bit like White Spirit but not so oily so evaporates quickly - it's a kinda purple colour in a small clear bottle (just don't go drinking it  ).

That stocking-net type polishing cloth would be usefull as it will 'grab' the little bits of glue as it comes away.

Would tar remover be any use? Tried this on a van once and it seemed to do the trick.

Tar remover is a bit too strong for the paintwork really....

Suppose. This was an ex-Post Office red LDV Sherpa thing that we weren't overly bothered about....

White Spirit/Meths or T-Cut would be my first ports of call to remove any left over residue. Worst case scenario is they've been on the door so long the exposed bits of paint have got sunbleached whereas the bits where the stickers were are still the original colour. Hopefully shouldn't be too much of a problem on silver though.

that door is so :cheesy: :cheesy:
did you know it was like that?
to be fair to tnt a door is a pig to protect and transport
get the hair dryer out to remove the stickers then depending how long they have been on you might get away with a t-cut and polish.

If all that fails there's always this approach

hairdryer did the job, and meths got the rest of the residue and glue off, though i did it in a conservatory and i was as high as a kite afterwards.

ive had a proper look at my actual door and thanks to some T-cut, once the dent is bashed out it will look fine so im just selling the new door!

hairdryer to remove the vinyl

followed by some PVC plastic window cleaner (gets glue off like no other cleaner) dont rub hard with this tho it wont take paint off but you will know what i mean if you use it, get this from any window or door supplier £5 a bottle max

then use FARECLA G3 cutting compound, this will remove them shaded areas that the vinyl has left 8)

also if you have any light scrathces in the laquer get a tube of that G3 its unreal what a difference it makes 8)
