Hi guys got another problem front wipers packed in whilst I was on the motorway, pulled off rapid style phoned RAC the guy checked all the fuses all ok. tested the power to the motor he said it was pulling ok then he pushed the wiper arm downwards toward the bonnet the wipers started again and worked ok so I set off, it had stopped raining so I switched the wipers off when I tried to use them again they didnt respond again until I stopped and pushed the wiper down again, the problem seems to be random sometimes they will work and other times not , could anyone please enlighten me on what could be wrong thanks in advance ......Rob

Sounds like either the contacts have worn out/burned or the brushes have thrown in the towel

Does it always die in the same place? That would point to the contacts. Not sure if you can strip them any more to check.

Hi Steve thanks for the reply the wipers go back to park then will not restart until the arm is pushed further downwards its as though they are sticking in the park position but will kick in if pushed past park position if that makes any sense

Have you lubed up all the moving parts/ball joint connections? Maybe the spindles are starting to sieze in their housings?
