Decided to de-badge my D8 still not sure if i like it owell it is ok till I find a decent bodykit

the bottom mesh looks good and the top one might look ok when you finish it its not finished is it

nah like i said im waiting to find a good body kit so no its not finished its work in progress it needs something to finish it but I cant tell what it is any ideas any1????

That is absolutely horrid.

Ok, bottom mesh is ok, infact I like it.
But you need to do something with the top half... it stinks. Perhaps with a black mesh and a D9 style badge it might look "ok" but unless you get rid of the indentation on the bumper, its going to continue to lookrubbish. You also need something to frame it. Kinda like the D9 too.

the grill looks like you drove through a chainlink fence and have kept it as a souvineer it does nto looke finished does not look part of the car

Bodykits are not always a necessity. Try and be different. Keep the bodywork well above the road and enjoy the freedom of cruising over speed bumps while every chav with a low hung bodykit has to gingerly persuade their cars over, while causing hundreds of ?s worth of damage by spliting their bumpers or sideskirts.
The ammount of times I'm been able to cruise along a road and beat the local twat in a modded Escort because I can sail over the bumps is laughable. They have bigger engines than me, turboed and tweaked and tuned, but even the smallest traffic calming (jamming more like) speed bump turns all that advantage to dust because of their bodykits.

I am of the opinion that the car bodywork hangs a set distance from the road for a good reason... clearance... and it whould stay that way.

Heres a suggestion:
Find a way to put a frame round the mesh, that will make it more look more like a properly fitted part, rather than afterthought. Look at the Mk2 grill for the 406 and you'll know what I mean by frame.

Get headlight eyebrows and paint em the same colour as your car. I've even seen them for the rear lights... now THAT would be different. Keep your hands of lexarse lights cos, well, they're common as shite now and loook crap on anything but a silver 406.

Get a nice set of alloys with 6 or 8 spokes... look at how well the alloys from the Mk2 SRi suite the 406... lots of spokes but nice clean lines, like the bodywork.

How about even colour coding all the black trim on the outside? I've seen a Mk1 406 with this done and it looks the dogs bollocks!

That was my next idea was to paint the black bumper strips the colour of the car when I even have the money for a cheap job like this.

I can understand what your saying but im young and foolish i'lll only listen when i actully crack my bumper on a speed bump but I suppose thats life

I will sort that grill out with a border of some sort when I have the time. Ive got to go see my local bodyshop this week anyway Ill see if he has any ideas.

ok my car looks standard except for lowering,
now its a 306 cabriolet in silver fitted with a 406 turbo engine and aftermarket ecu this has been tuned at a guess to around 220bhp,havent rr'd it yet asits not quite finished since pug coil pack suck ass roll on the ford edis conversion.
anyway tis also as 4 pot brembo brakes with 305mm discs soon to be fitted, it has not got any body kit at all however i would consider it to be "cool" not that i really care what anyone else thinks, the only thing i think when i see a kitted car is "why bother" and laugh as i know it willonylhave a 1.1l engine and my mother would show it up in her invalid carrige.

body kits look stupid as do aftermarket spoilers/neons etc very few cars can pull them off (rx7 is one that can)
a 406 cannot.
the best mods you can do will be a slight lowering (circa 30mm) a decent set of multispoke wheels (i always think multispokes suit larger saloon style cars best) and that will do along with any colour coding that is needed.

Yer well alloys are next on the menu then the lowering is this easy to do yourself with a mate?? or should I get it done by a pro? how much would this cost?

I know i can rip away the coras and fiestas that all my mates have but the kitted cars pull the gurlz

its easy if you know what your doing with cars but can be very dangerous if you dont, so you asking that question would suggest to me for you to get it done by a garage, simly because when removing the springs they have enough tension in them that if you dont know what you are doing and the compressor slips it would quite easily remove your head.

as for the gurls things i have owned quite a few nice cars for my age (megane 2l 16v, renault 19 16v, pug 205 gti, pug 205 mi16, nissan primera 2.0gt) and tbh i have never ever pulled a girl worth knowing through having a nice car. My current girlfriend who is absolutly stunning hates my car lol

I'm not talking bout meaningful relationships tho just abit of fun on the back seat im 18 and lucky enough to have a 406 which has quite abit of room in the back and tinted windows enough bout that anyway lol

Well I am currently studing for my aircraft maintainance licence so if I can't do the car suspension I should be shot but illl get a m8 to help theres plenty of machanics as m8s round my way

NOWT wrong with kitted up 406's i dont have any problems with speedbumps (well not anymore since i got the cat removed lol) even fully loaded with roof box golf clubs suit cases and 3 sprogs on the back seat still managed to get over speed bumps with out any scraping. I have my old D9 grill in my shed allready meshed with blue mesh would take some building out with fibreglass to fill the gaps but should fit somehow
