I see loads of 406s with them missing, including mine since one of my neighbours smashed it off

Now I've finally got a replacement, I see why they go missing: there's barely anything holding them on!

So, any ideas for keeping hold of them?

look up tiger seal sticks like stuff to the blanket.

Pink grip, its an amazing glue for things round the car, but try and thread a bit of wire through one of the holes in such a way that if it falls off you will see it dangling from the car and have a chance to retrieve the part. Another thing i have done with the centre hub caps which one fell out was to write my name, telephone number and address on the inside with permanent marker, it just might help to get them back if they fall off.

I got round the "hubcaps falling off" thing by replacing them with Peugeot alloys off eBay

The hub caps that were on my car when I bought it were the tattiest bit on the whole car.

Nearly 2 years later, that "honour" now falls to the bit of black rubber window trim on the rear drivers' side door that has been messily superglued in place (the previous owner's handywork). Either that or the passenger side rear door that has a dent in it that looks suspiciously like another car's door has been banged into it in the supermarket car park, and rather than leave insurance details, the owner has buggered off

Not to derail the topic much further - I have access to a floor tile lifter (which is basically a suction cup device used to lift computer room raised floor tiles out). Should I attempt to use this carefully to pull out the little dings in my car, or is that just asking for trouble?

it would need to be very flat metal for the suction cup to grip, and i used one of them dent pullers once on a car and i might as well have drew a picture of the dent because it did nothing to get it out

Well it has now managed three days of service.

highlander: I just thought earlier today of writing my address on it! Maybe I could get my mummy to sew a name tag in?

The consensus seems to be: "use sticky glue" which I guess is obvious.

Indeed the neighbour in question didn't own up
