is there an issue with rust on bonnets ? mines currently some bubbbling on the front edge which I`m treating with Kurust but I notice someone in"buy/sell" needing a bonnet because of rust issues .
Replacement !

It'll be all the stone chips that hit your bonnet... 406's are not very prone to rusting (not a single piece of rust on mine, yet!)

Not stone chips CJ its ciming from inside out the paint is all there the bubbles
are underneath the paint

I've got the same on mine. Planning on just picking up another bonnet if one turns up as it's only small bits, but they're right where the skins of the bonnet join together so if I took a wire brush to it, I'd only get the bits I can see & it'd still be rusting away where I can't.

yip under the bonnet at the front theres a few bubbles, i scrubbed it with a wire brush and put in some galve paint, but generally the 406 is a very rust free car, in fact all peugeots seem to be rust free, the only one i have had trouble with was a white 309 which was rotten everywhere but it was used in a seaside area, it wasnt a 309 problem because i had a red one which had bodywork like new

i just resprayed my bonnet not that long ago but i have a bonnet bra on the car now to stop the stones from doing slight damage to the bonnet

is a bonnet bra the thing i see on the front of new toyota landcruisers and hiluxes i didnt know that was what it was for

Ooh, pics please Modified406. I've seen the bra's on eBay and quite fancy one for mine but would like to see what one would look like fitted to a 406 first

Stonechips on mine that i've patched up with touchup paint.

The lower edges of the nearside doors on mine are all thats rusty :shock:
