Hey,

Looking for a nice-looking spoiler for my 406 D8.

What I am looking for is a kind of WRC/WRX spoiler, you know the kind that goes up on each side and just over the middle.

I don't want a very high spoiler just about 10-20cm high at the most.

Anyone have any ideas and links on where to get one?

Some people are prejudiced against spoilers, so ignore them!!

I keep looking for the universal wrx spoiler that I had installed on my last car. It was on eBay for about ?140. It was reasonably tall but not massive, and everyone said it was the high point of the car. They don't seem to make it any more.

Note: If you're going to make your car into a head-turner, please don't make the same mistake I did - install bigger, better wheels FIRST!!

How about this one?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDI-A4-95-00-WRC ... otohosting

It's for an A4 which is roughly the same size, and it's quite squared off which would suit the rear of a D8 406.

I think the high point of your car was the roof aerial....?

I dont think the car suits that spoiler tbh, I think when its comes to the 406 and spoilers I'm beginning to prefer subtle 1's rather than in ur face big fck offs. You also have to remember cars with spoilers of that nature may also attract some unwanted attention from police etc. I aint ever been done for speeding, even tho a copper pulled up along side me when I was doing 130mph, I slowed down and he left the motorway. No doubt if I'd had a big fck off spoiler I would prob have been banned.

IMHO, if you're going to get a big spoiler, you need to go the full hogg and completely bodykit your 406.
A standard 406 with a nasty big spoiler looks rubbish.

Infact, the 406 does not suit any large spoilers at all, smaller subtle ones like what you could choose as an option on the brochures.

I still think my spoiler is the best looking for a 406, but thats just because its mine :cheesy:

I like Foxy's spoiler also.

And this one was a Dealer option I believe:

that's a right tasty piece of tail that Foxy has there :D

Some of us went the 405 Mi16 route for our spoilers, which is cheap and effective.

It's true that big spoilers are attention grabbers, especially on a 406 which normally doesn't have one, or only has a tiny little piddly one that might as well not be there. Fortunately my last car had the performance to match its looks - unlike my current car!

Small spoilers can look quite fetching - check out a Mark 1 (<1997) Renault Laguna RT Sport (my last car), they look fantastic. Shame the cars just don't go quick enough for a spoiler to actually *do* anything, but hey it was a gorgeous car until I whoopsied it ;)

Oh hang on yes it did do something very useful. Being the furthest rear point on the car it let me park accurately within an inch of a vertical object - wall, van, 4x4, etc... Really was handy

But what I think is, why bother spending money on something that nobody (except those with expert eyes) is going to notice?

Everyone has different tastes.
IMO big spoilers are not the way to make your car different. EVERY chav has got one, by having one you end up being classed as a Chav too.

What breed of spoiler is that on foxys 406? I like it, and would like to get ma grubby mitts on one cheap, a la scots stylee?
I reckon a nice subtle spoiler like that is just what my 406 is politely asking me for.
I was going to make one from blue foam and glass over it, but that takes time, and thats at a premium at the moment.
