how do you remove the glass? [without breaking it]

Point it up at the sky as best you can and at the bottom edge of the glass there should be a little spring lever jobbie behind the glass inside the housing, with a small screwdriver or such move the spring to one side or the other and the glass should just drop out.

i cant remember if i ever did mine on the pug but just about every car i have had since my series landy the wing mirror glass has come off this way.

well ive got it of the car and ive pointed it in all directons but cant see a clip ,can see 2 philps screws.

could just be a small bit of silver spring showing, have you shone a torch round the outside edge of the glass into the back of the housing, i have had a few that you just cant see back there in the dark.

Aim the mirror as far up as it will go; up behind the base of the glass as disco says you'll see two prongs sticking down.
When you get the mirror off you have to refit the clip to the glass before putting it back on.

the way i do it is risky but never seems to break it.

face glass into sky. very large screw driver in and as fast as you can pop the glass out.

its risky but i have never broke 1 yet and ive removed a shed load

i tell a lie i have broke 1 when i 1st did it.
