hi throbley
for my car there was no airbag sensors near the head lights, anyways here's what I did
1- removed the grill
2- located three screws holding the headlights: one on top required a torx key, the other on the side required a 10mm socket with extention and the third was in front behind the grill with an extra long 10 mm screw.
3- disconnect the wires from the headlamp.
4- unscrew the one on the side then the torx up then the long one
5- vois la, just take it off.

anyway if you're concerned about the airbag blowing just disconnect the battery

Good Luck

this is typical farm yard bs,
the air bags are fired by internal Accelerometers, these measure g forces, you cant just hit a sensor and the airbag will fire off, the sensors will also be no where near the headlight they are integral to the airbag system on most cars.
