I would exhaust all the other possible ways water could be getting in before jumping to the conclusion it's the screen at fault.

Too true... going to do some tests on it tomorrow... but I did feel the steering wheel earlier (where the horn is on the right hand side) and it felt damp and wet... I have seen water droplets on the top of the dash board and just thought that maybe that had come inside from the door being open... that said - if it was the windscreen, then from where the water droplets were - the passenger footwell should be wet too...

But definitely would explain why the mats were wet on top...

Oh I don't know

I had the same problem on my 406 estate (headliner wet through above the visor on the drivers side), how much of the drain hose have you exposed? if you pull off the door seal and ease the headliner down there is a joint in the drain tube (there is on mine anyway) and I am shure that is where mine was leaking from cant quite remember what I did to fix it but it seems to be OK now.

Thank you!
Well I think, touch wood that clearing the drain has sorted it...
I don't get any water down the A pillar or the roof lining at the moment..
