Not sure if this is the right place to put this post but can't really see anywhere else.

I had my car (03 406 estate HDI) up on a ramp the other day for a general look around the underneath and noticed a small damp patch on the fuel tank, it appears that fuel is leaking somewher but I cant see where as it is up between the bobywork and the tank where the feed and return pipes go up to the tank connection.

Anybody else had this problem.

Likely to be the tank seal on the top of the tank, had this on both my D8 saloon and D9 estate. Unfortunately it's a huge pain since you need to drop the tank off to get to it.

Lift the drivers side rear seat up and underneath you will see
a large black plastic cap , twist this to release it and underneath
you will see the top of the fuel pump and pipe connectors .

My bro's old one did this, someone had snapped the locking ring, then tried to bodge it together with a big hose clip.

mine is leaking from around the seal on the tank pump, not enough to drip but i can see it's damp, i don't want to touch it yet as they can be a right pain to seal.

Thanks for the advice will look through the inspection hole and see if there is anything amiss I had recently filled the tank full so that may be why it's shown up
