Rear Door Checkstrap bit creaky

Post by Waxman »

Noticing that the offside rear door checkstrap on the estate is a bit 'clicky' and has a little notch on mid close where it's quite stiff

Is this a known character on D9's ? - dismantle, regrease etc

Or a case of replacing the strap ?

Thx

The estate did this a while back, I dismantled and repacked the strap with grease and it's been fine since.

Try and regularly re-grease it by just squirting some onto the strap when the door's open, seems to have sorted it :)

+1 on that Jay,
Both my rear ones were like that when I first bought it last year  . Lack of use & maintenance I guess, the main stealers being to lazy to spray a bit of grease :frown:
Like Jon said pack with grease & work it in, I used a spray grease just to get it worked in with out having to strip down :cheesy: & repeat every 6 months or so
