It is possible, but it's also a very big job so probably not worth the bother. It's be cheaper and easier to buy a facelift car

Agreed, don't waste your time and money and go and buy a facelift one instead. Don't forget the facelift has a whole lot more done to it than just the look of it.

It has been done (if I had more time I'd look for the post and pics), the wings are more-or-less the same, just the repeaters are elsewhere. You will need.. bumpers, bonnet, slam panel, grille and lights (all of them).

You'd also devalue the car instantly because it'll become a confusing don't-touch-with-barge-pole basket case.
D8 is a good quality motor.
D9 is prettier but 'cheapened' in many areas.

See I like this idea as I have a d8 but like the d9 headlights but prefer the d8 grill

Too true. Wrong front end could either be it's been in a big smash and those bits were easier to get gold of =or= it's a ringer.
I loved the front end of the D9 when I had a D8, now I have a D9 I think I prefer the D8

I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure...

I think in my opinion would have to disagree, EW's are a whole let better over an XU as the EW is pretty much a big revision of the XU.
EDIT: Including ES9J4S being tonnes better than the ES9J4 too
As well as I found the D8's to be a lot cheaper, parts were worn faster (Or is that due to the older age) and of course D9's have a lot more features and luxuries.
Where exactly would you say a D9 is 'cheapened'?? Debate time
However, one thing I would LOVE to do is a D9 front on a Coupe. I would froth by the mouth and drop my sedan for one of those in a heartbeat.
I have a D9 Coupe and a D9 Sedan which are parked next to each other in my driveway and I keep eyeing up how it would be possible. Sadly its A LOT of fabrication and I can't weld, fabricate or cut anything nicely for my life. So its gonna be a miss but dreams are free.
