fitting towbar 1999 hdi 90 estate

quoted 250 for a towbar... anyone fitted one themselves with single 7pin electrics. kits new are £80 but look complicated

I fitted my towbar myself ( second hand £30 from eBay ) and had a local towbar fitter fit new electrics to the car for £20.

The towbar is a simple fit, but it MUST come with the special caged nuts which slide into the chassis for the towbar bolts to go into.

I still have a towbar on donor car, but its missing a washer/spacer.

id need to ask then when i buy the kit.
i dont mind secondhand but half the nuts etc will be missing. need a towbar so i need to fit one or buy another one with one on it

Looks okay, all the bits are there and the price is very good.

The caged nuts are the 4 rectangular things ( 2 each side ) on the long arms of the rear bracket.

If you are worried about wiring it in, maybe get some help from a friendly auto electrician, or maybe Steve can chip in with his wiring diagram wizardry.....!!
