bump strips

anyone know the easiest way of getting the bump strips off my doors and bumpers so i can colour code them

You just pull them off. Don't forget to remove the retaining clip/ring thing on the end of it on the other side of the door. Open the door and you'll see it by the hinges.
Also, before you start the work, get 50 clips from your stealers and there's no way to get the strips off without breaking the clips.

Oh sounds like a job I could do to mine. Is it easy to get the chrome trim out of the black strips, and is it easy to put back in afterwards?

Reminds me, I caught that stupid rubber door cill trim with my shoe again yesterday and snapped another clip off

I've colour coded my bump strips does make a big difference!
I just pulled the bump strips of the front bumper as they come off pretty easy.
As for the doors and rear bumper I just masked them off with newpaper and masking tape (make sure u practise the technique and ur prep is carefully done though!

Silicon Sealant/Adhesive for the win! Thats what mine are held on with. Flexible enough to give when you catch your heel on them.

ive found the best way is to spry them when they r still on the car just cover up both side with paper and masking tap

Are the silver inserts easy to remove? as i was thinking about doing the same to mine.

The chrome inserts come out easy enough (careful not to bend them!) but they're an absolute bugger to get back in!

Does anyone know if you can buy the chrome inserts as mine have started to pit on the paasengers side and rear? really could do with replacing. Anyone got any pics of theres colour coded?
