Sourcing paint codes....

Discuss the 406's Bodywork stuff in here (what parts fit what, what can be interchanged with what etc etc).

Sourcing paint codes....

Post by jimmartin1 »

Im only after getting my new wagon there... a 1998 406 in white, im looking to spray sideskirts and various other pieces, now the problem is that i cant find a paint code. On the blue one it was stensiled onto the strut top but no such luck this time, there is nothing. would anyone be able to help me out here? would all whites for say a 1998 be the same colour? can anyone source it????
Should look far nicer than the blue one if done! Help appreciated :)

It could be on the tyre pressure lable inside the driver's door.

It's painted on the strut top in white. Easy enough to spot... *COUGH* ;)

It really wouldn't surprise me if it's the same on yours tbh. If it's not on the tyre pressure plate or the VIN plate, I'd just do a search for the 406 paint codes and see what shades of D8 are in white? I'm guessing there'd only be one?

Not sure, it tells you the name of the colour though

Im still stuck, cant find anything... there is a little coe on the sticker on the drivers door which says 'AE02'. Is that it? There is some other numbers and things but it seems to be recommended tyre sizes. There is not one thing on the strut top.

Can anyone help me source a colour for this wagon to i get started the work on her?? :) cheers

That doesn't sound promising, even accounting for Pug's wildly erratic paint codes. One thing though, I've just been looking about and there's only one white listed for the 406 in the UK - Bianca - I know it doesn't help you with the finish (pearlescent etc) but maybe it's worth buying a tin to try? Failing that, you'll have to take it somewhere to get it matched I'm afraid.

well, i work for a guy that does spraying the odd sat when im not a uni and i phoned him up and he said that if you go to halfords and buy the peugeot white collection and match it up.... The paint code is on all the touchup paints and they are cheap enough to get....so once i get a match then i can go on ahead and get a litre of waterbased....

would anyone be able to get it handy enough before i head to Mr. Half a run? lol im dying to get this white one finished :cheesy:
