Please can anyone tell me if you can just buy the chrome inserts. The near side rear bumper insert is damaged on my estate , the black moulding is ok though. I've been quoted a £120 which seems a bit bit steep to me! Failing that anyone got a good near side rear moulding with chrome?

I think they come as a set. The last time I bought one I got both sides and the bumper cover! Not the bit on the tail gate tho.

You can buy just the chrome inserts I am sure. I think they are about 15 quid from the stealers. Just make sure you say you don't need the black bits and just the chrome bits.

Thanks guys, I've phoned two main dealers and they both quote £120 for the set, which seems steep for the chrome moulding but cheapish for the set of black bumper parts! I'll have to go in person I think! And there was I thinking getting a chrome strip would be easy :-)

Hm, well I was referring to the saloon D8 version, which CAN be bought separately. Not sure about the estate though.

Hiya mate, I got the black bit for the tailgate, which including the chrome strip, for about £20 inc vat, so the price they quoted for the whole set sounds pretty good to me.

How about getting one from a breaker's yard?

Thanks everyone, I managed to find a clean used one at a breakers,Pug sell sthe chrome strip for saloons but not estates!!

My chrome insert on the bottom of the rear door of my estate has gone all corroded too. Can the chrome strip be removed and replaced easy or does the whole black strip need to come off. How do you remove it?

Change the whole black moulding including the chrome strip. It's only about £20 from the stealer. They're just plastic clips holding it on, take a deep breath and pull , then line the new one up and give it a few thumps to pop the clips in

Already ordered from Yeomans over the phone. I got a cam belt kit and water pump at the same time as thats well over due. The trim was £19.99. The cam belt kit and water pump was cheaper from them by about 50 quid over my local main dealer and they are genuine parts too. Even my local motor factors was more for pattern parts!

Btw the chrome strip is held on with some sort of double-sided sticky and it's recessed into the end of the black bit, so basically you won't be able to prize it out without f*&%ing it up

Thats ok as I have bought the whole black part with insert

I guessed that, it's for anyone who had hopes to replace any on an estate's back bumper but was hoping to avoid paying £130 for the whole lot

The chrome strip bits all the way round mine are looking pretty ropey.

As an ex-police car it's had a fairly hard life and I think every door has been replaced at various times. As a result, none of them are exactly matching in colour shade. I'm planning on getting a paint job done, so it all matches, all the scratches n chips are sorted out etc. Renewing all the chrome strips would finish it off nicely.
